Overview

CleanTune ("we", "the app") provides a free online tuner, metronome and ear-training game. This policy explains what data is and isn't collected when you use www.cleantuneapp.com and the CleanTune app for Android (published by Inside Studios Lab).

Microphone access

The tuner uses your device's microphone to detect musical pitch. This audio is processed entirely in your browser in real time. It is never recorded, stored, transmitted to a server, or shared with any third party. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your browser settings.

No accounts, no stored personal data

CleanTune does not require an account, login, or email address to use any feature. The ear-training game does not save your name or score anywhere — the name you type is used only to generate a shareable image in your browser, which you choose whether to download or share.

Local device storage

We use your browser's local storage only to remember your theme preference (light/dark) and whether you've dismissed the "install app" prompt. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Advertising

CleanTune may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

CleanTune for Android

Microphone: the tuner uses the microphone only while the tuner screen is open. Audio is analyzed on your phone in real time and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.

Data stored on your device: your settings (instrument, tuning, theme, reference pitch, metronome tempo) and your best ear-training scores are saved only on your phone.

Ads (Google AdMob): the free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location (derived from your IP address), app interaction data and diagnostic information. This data is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Data is encrypted in transit. Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent and can change their choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

Premium purchase: the one-time purchase that removes ads is processed by Google Play. We never receive your payment details; we only receive confirmation that the purchase is active so the app can remove ads.

No accounts: the app has no sign-up or login and we do not collect your name, email or contacts.

Children: CleanTune is not directed at children under 13.

Optional purchases

If you choose to remove ads via a one-time purchase, that transaction is processed by Google Play (in the Android app) or a third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Continued use of CleanTune after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
